these sunshowers I'll be aiming at you

Well, I'm off for a vacation with the family to a beach cottage where I shall sip tea and walk along the beach in the young hours of the early morning, & sip Lemencello surrounded by citronella candles under the starry night. So, for now I must pack up & I shall see the blog on Tuesday. :]

pedaling through my mind's eye

Currently at the top of my wish list is a bicycle, one of a classic design so I can pedal softly around. I want to glide through an old European city with the breeze tossing my hair about. Imaginings of old cities are whirling through my mind right now, & I would simply delight in a life of travel so I could experience the many entrancing cultures around the world. But, one can dream & hope that such experiences don't take to long too come about. :)

the garden grows; as if she knows

Gardening is such a great way to spend ones time on a warm summer afternoon. I just love walking around aimlessly in my backyard & garden, soaking up all of the sounds & smells. I took some photos to share some of the flowers growing around here {& it was also an excuse to take a photo of my kitty :] }
The design of our garden is pretty simple with common species of flowers like colourful lilies & beautifully scented roses; all helping to keep me in touch with nature. There's also some vegetables that we've planted that start growing throughout the summer and into the fall. Fresh local fruits & veggies are really the most delicious & I'm always ecstatic when one of my favourites is in season.
I also love gardening as a form of art. And leave it to the Brits at the BBC to really know their stuff. The history of the art of gardening is also quite fascinating and so I've linked up a nice timeline of the history of British gardening here.

Photo inspiration that makes me twirl about with glee.

a certain romance with the antiquated

A trip to Toronto to visit The Royal Ontario Museum got my heart all flustered by the display of the interior style evolution from the middle ages to the 20th century. The period rooms & vignettes were gorgeously portrayed & there were many other exhibitions around the museum that were also equally fascinating.
I absolutely adore museums & art galleries & I am very excited for my study of art history to begin in the fall! I believe art has a fantastic way of guiding us through the lives & ideas of characters from the past; the timelessness of it is truly inspiring & museums seem to transport me to this time that once was.
